INSTANT BROWNIE MIX INGRED
4cSugar
2 1/2cFlour
1 1/2cUnsweetened cocoa
2tsBaking powder
1 1/2tsSalt
2cShortening
FUDGE CHEWIE BROWNIES
3cInstant brownie mix
2 Eggs
1tsVanilla
1/4cChocolate sauce
1/2cChocolate chips
PEANUT BUTTER BROWNIES
3cInstant brownie mix
2 Eggs
1tsVanilla
1/2cPeanut butter chips

Mix Dry ingredients together in a large bowl and add shortening by spoonfuls, cutting in with a pastry blender or 2 knives, or in a food processor.

Store mix in a tightly covered container in the pantry. If you have children around, it might help to label this one "health food", to preserve the mix a bit longer. If there are no children, mix will keep 3 months in dry weather.

TO MAKE BROWNIES:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Combine the ingredients in a bowl, stirring to mix thoroughly Pour into a buttered 8 inch square pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.

Variations:

You can also add one or more of the following ingredients to any of the brownie recipes:

1/2 c chopped walnuts 1/2 c pulverized butter brickle 1/2 c shredded coconut 1/2 c chopped dates or raisins 1/2 c crumbled chocolate candy bar.
